Health Promoting Hospitals - Tobacco Free Pre-conference
Each year, The Global Network of Tobacco Free Healthcare Services is invited to co-organize the pre-conference to the Health Promoting Hospitals and Health services international conference. HPH's main annual event provides a platform for learning and exchanging knowledge and experiences on health promotion in and by hospitals and health services. The annual HPH Conference usually attracts a wide range of professionals - from health practitioners to consultants, scientists, and politicians.
This year's Tobacco Free Pre-Conference was divided into two parts:
Part 1 - GOLD Forum Event
This year's Global GOLD Forum Event was held on Wednesday 6th of June 2018 in Bologna, Italy as part of the 26th International Conference of Health Promoting Hospitals and Health Services (HPH) Tobacco Free Pre-conference.
The event was an inspiring and highly successful day. Participants from 16 countries were represented; actively exchanging and acquiring knowledge with thanks to facilitation from international keynote speakers such as Prof. Carlo DiClemente, Department of Psychology, University of Maryland, United States.
PART 2 -Collaborative workshop: 'Connecting national strategies with evidence-based practice'
The second part of the pre-conference featured a collaborative workshop on 'connecting national strategies with evidence-based practice'with the Emilia-Romagna HPH Network.
The keynote speaker was the eminent author of the transtheoretical model of change - Dr. Carlo DiClemente (Professor of Psychology at University of Maryland, Baltimore County) who spoke about connecting theory and practice in relation to addictive behaviours and tobacco cessation.
